There are several accessories that you will want to consider for your new djembe drum. Most players' wish list include a travel bag, a stand for storage and practice, a tuner, shoulder straps for standing and moving around while you play, and a ksink ksink. While these may be self-explanatory, here some a few of our thoughts anyway.
A bag is a must if you are going anywhere with your "new friend." Depending on your climate you may want to look at the waterproof choices here.
The stand is not a necessity for many players, but some of our smaller customers really thank us for suggesting they get one.
Shoulder straps, or harness setup, are almost a no-brainer. If you ever think you will stand and play your djembe, then just go ahead and get one.
You will need a puller at some point to help you pull and tighten the drum head for the rope-tuned models.
And lastly, don't forget your link to the origins of the djembe, a ksink ksink. These are ceremonial representatives of the shields used to protect the drummers in days gone by (thankfully). As the stories go, djembes were also used to signal the movements for the fighting warriors out in the field. If the drummers couldn't signal what needed to be done to the warriors, it wasn't going to be a very good day. Besides, these ksink ksinks can be used to foster all kinds of discussion on the history and legends built around the djembe.
